The present status of the snowtrout in the Garhwal hillstreams is described. A comparison is made between the percentage of snowtrouts in the catches from the Snowfed streams and from the foot-hills. The snowtrout fishery is declining due to man-made changes in the streams which affect the fish both directly and indirectly.
