A new genus Ganpati is proposed for a new species valvasymmetria collected from Chandigarh, Sairighat and Kalesar. In addition to the detailed decriptions of the new genus and species, illustrations and comments on intra-specific variations in the valvae of male genitalia of the new species are also given.
