Abstract

The nonlinear interaction of inhomogeneous cold beam of electrons of an arbitrary density with semi-bounded magnetized warm plasma has been investigated. It has been shown that, the nonlinear effects associated with the generation of second harmonics and collision plasma term plays an important role in the process of the energy transfer from the beam to the plasma as compared with linear stage. This is due to the fact that the electric field intensity at double frequency is stronger than that of basis frequency.

This leads to the conclusion that far enough from the plasma boundary inwards, the external static magnetic field may increase the amplitude of the fundamental waves and the electric field of waves with double frequency increases at basis frequency. Over this, it is found that the inhomogeneous electron beam affects on the generation of second harmonic waves, and hence on the power absorbed by the plasma.
