Abstract

A miscarriage is the natural death of an embryo or foetus before it is able to survive independently.
Miscarriages referred to as pregnancy loss and spontaneous abortion. About 80% of miscarriages
occur in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. However, miscarriages occur in at least 15% to 20% of all
pregnancies. Some researchers have been estimated the true incidence of miscarriages to be as high
as 50% to 78%. About 30% to 40% of all fertilized eggs miscarry. The most common signs symptom
of a miscarriage include; vaginal spotting, vaginal bleeding with or without pain. Clot-like material and
some tissues or fluid may expel out of the uterus passing from the vagina. Abdominal pain or
cramping sadness, anxiety and guilt often occur afterwards. However, self-induced abortion may be
performed by the mother or non-medical person who is extremely dangerous for the women life [1-3].
An induced abortion may be performed by a physician for women who want to terminate the
pregnancy.
