New technologies demand competent and skillful doctors to face challenges while utilizing the technology. Exploring and updating our own knowledge is possible when we are ready to learn new things on our own i.e self-directed learning. Self-motivation to achieve the set goals will always lead to desired end result. This concept of self-directed learning is initiated in competency based medical education (CBME) in all preclinical subjects to make not foundation strong but also to imbibe the habit of self-directed learning.
