Abstract

The photovoltaic cell is a semi-conductor diode that converts light into electricity (DC). Any PV cell can transform the electromagnetic spectrum from infrared (IR) to ultraviolet (UV) into direct current (DC). Components such as photovoltaic cells are used in solar power systems. Research on the efficient use of photovoltaics (PVs) centres on PV characteristics and PV systems in their whole. The power-voltage characteristics of photovoltaic cells are not linear. Monitoring the PV array's MPP is crucial for optimising energy production (MPP). The difficulty of using solar cells has grown considerably in recent years. To boost module efficiency, more time and resources are being poured into updating the technology. This research builds a solar cell model in MATLAB/Simulink from first principles, utilising standard equations for electric current. The effect of various parameters may be shown with the use of current-voltage and power-voltage curves for solar cells.
